THE PRACTICE STAFF Practice Manager
Mrs Lynne Johnson is our practice manager and is available to answer any
administrative or non-medical queries relating to the practice. She is
also available to discuss any suggestions or complaints.
Receptionists
Our receptionists are here to help you. They are the people to speak to
if you wish to make an appointment or if you have any other queries. When
telephoning for medical attention, you may be asked for a few details:
please give as much information as possible. Our receptionists have been
trained to make these enquiries so that we can help you in the most appropriate
way. Any matters concerning our patients will always be treated in confidence,
as receptionists are bound by the same codes of conduct as the doctors.
Nurse Practitioner
Claire Grainger BSc (Hons) Dip N/P, RGN, PD Dip Ed.
As a highly experienced Nurse Practitioner, Claire is able to diagnose, treat and prescribe for a wide variety of conditions. She is involved with the management of long term conditions eg. diabetes, respiratory conditions.

The HCAs work alongside the doctors and practice nurses and carry out duties such as:
New Patient Checks
Vitamin B12 Injections
Blood Pressure Monitoring
Phlebotomy (blood taking)
Routine Health Checks
Influenza & pneumococcal immunisation
Medical Students
The practice is involved with the training of medical students.
District Nurses
The district nursing team is responsible for
nursing care in the community. They work in liaison with the hospital
and our doctors.
They can be contacted on 724775. (There is an answering machine if they
are not available.)
Health Visitors
The health visitors are responsible for all aspects
of care for families with pre-school children. They can be contacted on
715848.
Midwives
The midwives hold clinics at the surgery on Monday and Thursday mornings;
during these times they may be contacted through reception. When the surgery is
closed, they can be contacted in an emergency on 830000 (midwife liaison).
